Hello to all…
The phrase that you are only as good as what you eat has a lot of weight behind it. You truly are what you eat and I my self am a testment of this fact. My story begins like this:
“Once upon a time in a continent away from America I was born into an Italian family who unbeknownst to me were meat eaters for no other fact that their philosophy was to live off the land based on what they believed to be their God given right to consume plant and animal alike to their liking and choosing.” Their generation was taught to consume animal as were many generations before them, always being desensitized from birth to the consumption of their animals as a food source. The result from all of this was the fact that all of my aunts, uncles, and their parents have all partaken in a sad ritual of passing long before their time. They all but a single one died from heart and cardiovascular disease. This is not a small family that I am speaking of; try this on for size. My grandparents family consisted of 14 brothers and sisters who all died around the ages of 55 to 65 all from heart related diseases. I believe with all that I have learned throughout my lifetime that their death’s could have been prolonged for quite a long time!
By general terms most of European culture tends to live a long, healthy and vibrant life. My experience in European culture is with a Mediterranean lifestyle. The foods that are available to live off the land there are in abundance and delicious. When I speak of living off the land I am talking of all the vegetation that grows around there, makes me wonder why my parents ever wanted to leave and come to Canada. There are fruits and vegetables all year round; olives, broccoli, tomatoes, lettuce, beans, onions, garlic, herbs, berries (all sorts), peaches, plums, apples, just to name a few. Could you ask for more? So why was it necessary to break into the animal food chain which congests arteries and leads to a short sedentary lifestyle? Who knows…
By the look of the picture at the top of the article could one say they ever needed more to eat? There is such an abundance of taste and nutrition in this picture that it is all that any one person would ever need to cook and live in the raw off of. Me personally if I can get away with it I will eat raw, the health benefits and tastes are amazing, nothing better! Just pull some of those tomatoes, onions, garlic and basil add a little olive oil and you have a salad that tastes to nothing you can ever compare. Sprout some kidney beans, grains and add tomatoes is another one that the taste is indescribable! Trust me you have to go and create this yourself and you will truly know what I am talking about. Now that’s a good-a food! There are so many resources and avenues of information out there now that it is no longer an excuse to say that “I don’t know how” and “I don’t have any recipe to follow” the excuses can build up quite nicely for someone who is looking to procrastinate. Just get off your duff and DO IT! You and your family will be glad you did. Until next time…

I like this article. It is quite true that we are what we eat. And if a sheep can turn grass into skin, bones, and muscle, we have no excuse for eating animals under the guise of producing healthy tissue.
I like the style of your presentation, and say Cheers! to your raw food experimentation.
Hi, I can?t understand how to add your site in my rss reader. Can you Help me, please? I really want to read your future posts.
Hey – nice website, just looking around some blogs, seems a really nice platform you are using. I’m currently using Wordpress for a few of my websites but looking to change one of them over to a platform similar to yours as a trial run. Anything in particular you would recommend about it?
Hi Caroline, I am uncertain why you cannot subscribe to my blog. The RSS feed button sits right at the top of the blog right next to “Golioth’s Lookout section” to the right of it. Please let me know if you cannot see this feature on your PC. Thank you so much for following my blog.
Have an awesome day.
